Forever Family

Jan's Facebook Cover

Carrie was looking forward to her junior year in high school. She was hoping this would be the year she found true love. Was Danny her true love? Or just a fantasy? Maybe it was her new friends that love her unconditionally. Would Carrie ever find a love that was true? A love that she had heard about and knew once as a child. Carrie never imagined she would be taken for a ride, a ride that would show her about the power of God’s divine providence. Her journey takes her far away from home, but strangely, straight into the arms of her forever family.

Now that you’ve read the book, please use the comment section below to tell me what you think.

Also, what do you think happened to Danny?  To Carrie and her baby?  What happened with Carrie’s mom?  Tell me about your youth group.  I’d love to have your input.  Who knows?  It might end up in another book!

I read your book last week and I was very impressed that God has given you this gift of writing. I’m not a big reader, so for me to read this is really something, I felt I was right there with Carrie and cried in Chapters 6 and 7. Way to go! Good for you! I’m very proud of you! And, oh yeah… When’s the next book coming out? Sign me up! I want one.

  3. I loved the book! I have recently been to my sister’s and having it on the plane was such a pleasure. I hear that you are on your next book, please let me know when it comes out.

  4. Susan and I both loved the book! You are a wonderful writer – I felt like I was there. We both cried. We both were very moved by the evangelical element and the way it encourages the church to be real and to be supportive to the hurting.
We are praying God’s richest blessing on you, your life, your ministry, and your book. Thank you so much for the encouragement you have been to us!
Love your sisters in Christ, Terri & Susan

  5. Hey Jan,

I don’t know if you remember me or not. I met with you at the Berea International Festival; I was with the hand crafted soap booth. I just finished reading your book and I thought it was great. God has blessed you with a wonderful talent and I hope you continue to write. I’d love to read your next book when it comes out, and I’d like to know what will become of Danny, and Carrie’s mother, but I would especially enjoy reading more about Carrie as she begins her Forever Family with Steve, Tammy, the twins, and her own child.
    God Bless You,
    Katie

  6. Hi Jan,

I wanted to drop you a few lines to let you know how much I enjoyed meeting you at the Clack Mountain Festival yesterday. Additionally, I really loved the story line for your book. I finished reading it late last night after I got home from listening to Ralph Stanley. The story really kept my attention but I was distracted by a few typos and grammatical errors that I caught. I think the Xulon Press editors need to work on that a little bit. I have read a couple other books edited by Xulon Press editors and found similar problems.

If you want to check out my book The ABC’s of Life for Children and Adults, here is the link: http://www.xulonpress.com/book_detail.php?id=1024

Well, it’s almost time for church so I best close. I hope our paths cross again.

    In Christ,
    Pam

  7. I loved this book. You have a gift not only for writing, but for reaching the hearts of youth. I will be saving this one for Avery to read when she’s older. Well told story. I LOVE to read and truly enjoyed your book. Way to go. Can’t wait for the next one :)

  8. Thank you so much Amy. I can’t wait for the next one to be finished either. I hope you enjoy it even better. Thank you for your comments. I am so glad you liked it!

  9. Hey, jan this is sandy from court days. just wanted to let you know i read the forever family and it was great. Hope you are having great success.

  10. Thanks for the flute concert Saturday night, and for the surprise visit you paid us on the Green. Robbie had half of the book read before your concert ended. She finished it after we got home from church on Sunday. This morning I read it while I took a break from my vigil with our two great granddaughters while Robbie spent time with them. The book is a classic plot from the “father-absent research” data and so is the Christian Community response.

  11. Hi Jan,
I finished reading your book ‘Forever Family’ last night. What a beautiful story!!!! My son and his wife are youth directors at Peaks Mill Christian Church. I am going to share this book with them. I think it could be a great learning tool for young people (old people too).
    Thanks for sharing your talents,
    Jodie

  12. I finished you book Forever Family and I love it! It took a lot of will power for me not to read on until the last book club meeting! You defiantly need to write a sequel! I love everything about that book, mostly all of the positive and encouraging pieces in the story! Carrie is a great unique girl and I cried whe…n I read the part when she called her mom! Keep writing! I can’t wait until your next book comes out! :) Have fun in Florida!

I think you should write a sequel but change it to where she is drifting away from Christ and has to find her way back into Christ’s arms and into her “forever family.” Kind of like Chris.
